Rounding
Round the Value in Advanced Number Field rounds the value of a Gravity Forms Number field to 0–6 decimal places, with the rounding method Round, Ceil or Floor. Use it when typed or calculated values, such as prices and totals, must have a fixed precision.
You can round the value of a Number Field by selecting the ‘Round the Value’ checkbox in the General Field Settings:
Rounding numbers
Choose the number of decimal places in Rounding to decimal places: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.
With the Currency number format you can only choose 0 or 2 decimal places; the other options are disabled.
Rounding method
Decide which direction to round the value:
- Round: Rounds up or down dependent on the closest: with two decimal places, 1.224 will turn into 1.22 and 1.226 will turn into 1.23
- Ceil: Rounding the value up: both 1.224 and 1.226 will turn into 1.23
- Floor: Rounding the value down: 1.224 and 1.226 will turn into 1.22
When the rounding is applied
- When the visitor leaves the field after typing a value.
- To the result of a calculation in the field.
- Before the value is saved in the entry, so the entry stores the rounded number.
- When the value is used in the calculation of another field.
If Force Absolute is also checked, the value is made absolute first and then rounded. See Force Absolute.
To always show the chosen number of decimals, also for values like 2.5, check Fixed point notation. See Fixed Point Notation.
Rounding calculated Number fields
For Number fields with a calculation, use Round the Value instead of the Gravity Forms Rounding setting of the calculation. Advanced Number Field hides that Gravity Forms setting for Number fields that do not use the Currency format, and copies a value that was set before to Rounding to decimal places.
